None really, or rather not significant enough to prefer one over the other.

le sejour- living room. le salon is an upgraded version of a living room. usually u have all the expensive furniture in it. as for le sejour; its the family room, casual. its hard to understand because in france and once colonies of france they design their homes like this, a formal room and a casual room.In french, what's the difference between le sejour and le salon?
